According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, this year's election will be decided by money. Randell is reported to have $12.5 million in campaigning funds. His opponents, Lynn Swann and Bill Scranton, are reported to have about $1 million each. The governor has received many five- and six-figure donations to his campaign. It seems likely that Swann will get the Republican endorsement. However, with Rendell having such extensive monetary resources, it will be a difficult and expensive race.
